The students will use the laptops to practice doing math problems to improve their multiple step problem solving and critical thinking skills. As well, the focus is to increase writing competence to explain their "math thinking." This will prepare students for assessments, creating SMART goals and improve their confidence in math. Using a variety of resources will yield a greater amount of success which is a professional goal of mine this year. Integrating technology during instruction will also provide remediation and practice using online resources such as Khan Academy because many students do not have access to this outside of the classroom. Using online learning will provide immediate answers or feedback. Students will be less anxious and can take next steps to reinforce or reteach important math skills they are learning as they move towards proficiency. Overall, students are challenged to always do their best and excel in math. These materials will make a tremendous difference!
