These materials will provide students with an entire photography course in which students will learn about both the visual and conceptual components of photography as an artistic medium. Students will be asked to manipulate their environment and photograph it to make statements about themselves, their community, and their relationships. Then, students will learn to manipulate their images using computer software to enhance their message. Finally, students will reflect upon and analyze both their photos and their peers'. The way this course is organized provides an opportunity for students to learn how to analyze the credibility and importance of the visual culture they see on a daily basis.
