I provide notes for my students which they need to keep in a binder. Having an electric hole puncher will help keep those notes in place instead of in the black hole (otherwise known as a backpack). To help with their reading comprehension, the highlighters will enable my students to annotate while reading articles. Proof of understanding the imagery that an author is describing is done on construction paper, and it gets displayed in the class. For written expression, dry erase markers are used for "What's Wrong Wednesday". The students have to correct a sentence that is on the board on their own dry erase board. The competition gets fierce because the first student to get the sentence correct, gets to prove it on the board! Bragging rights for a week!
