During a peer observation my colleagues and I visited another EL program and saw the positive effect the horseshoe tables had on the students ability to attend, learn and interact with their teacher. We were amazed to see the positive engagement between students and the teacher! These horseshoe tables place the teachers in the zone of proximity allowing students to fully grasp and be able to focus more intently on direct instruction. Research shows that teacher placement is vital in student performance. As resource teachers we only have a window of time and in that window we have to make every second count.

About my class
