Imagine having students walking into your classroom asking what project will we do today? Every item in my list has a specific need. Construction workers are in high demand in our area. The block sets allow them to explore different types of materials and make adjustments in their projects because of the material differences. Using supplies like the blocks also opens the door for discussion at home with their parents. Every child loves magnets. Many items in our order will go along with our magnet unit. Recently I had a special need students who spent almost thirty minutes working with the magnets trying to figure out why the ends were repelling and/or attracting. When is the last time students were given materials where they could explore on their own? My lab is an open invitation to explore and ask questions. With the materials being requested students will have that opportunity.
