My project fufills the Nevada Academic Reading standard of ELA 6.7.1 Compare and contrast the experience of reading a story, drama, or poem to listening to or viewing an audio, video, or live version of the text, including contrasting what they “see” and “hear” when reading the text to what they perceive when they listen or watch. In my elective Books Alive, the students take turns reading the book aloud, then we watch the movie version and compare and contrast the two versions. Providing a class set of each book ensures that each of my students are able to participate.
