Students are being faced with some of the most difficult times right now during this covid pandemic. One of the biggest issues we had during the shut down was lack of access to materials. We are also at this time not permitted to use paint in the art classroom when school reopens. We were also faced with having many I Macs removed from our classroom due to the fact they were over 12 years old. Which leaves access to technology very limited.
Many students love learning digitally as we constantly use learning with advanced materials such as iPads. This year my goal is to get more iPads so each one of our advanced students will have access to iPads in school and at home during hybrid days.
Students will be able to tap into learning the iPad with the program "Procreate" an alternative to photoshop so that they can use all different types of "paint " materials, brushes. Students will digitally learn how to effectively build a piece of artwork through multiple layers of drawing, painting and through editing. The iPads will also help and serve as a camera to digitally record their art portfolios for digital backup and storage on the google drive.
