Many of my students would rather read with a physical book in their hands. So much of schooling has become digital and technology-based. Sometimes students crave these classic hands-on activities like reading an actual physical copy of a book as opposed to reading online. Having a book helps with whole-class engagement, especially when it comes to analyzing specific parts of a novel. A strategy I love to use with my students is using sticky notes to mark annotations in the books. Please help my struggling students connect to a novel and their classroom community!
