These books will be a huge difference during their 20 minutes of daily independent reading. Lately, we have been struggling because the students are re-reading most books in the classroom. Independent reading is THEIR time to find a book they love and get lost. These students do a lot of work with passages and buddy reading. I want them to be pushed to read on their own. Many students are able to read larger texts but are not motivated because of lack of books in the classroom. I am hoping that this project will help motivate them to sit with a great book!
