Kindergarten is a fun, exciting time for everyone involved: students, teachers, and parents. In order to create the most innovative and creative classroom, I am asking for a variety of building materials. My goal is to “build” students who are engaged, challenged, and connected to our daily lessons. My goal is to “build” relationships within our classroom through communication and collaboration. My goal is to “build” problem solvers through exploration and hands-on opportunities to incorporate the needs of all learners. My vision for these supplies includes daily use in small group settings. I plan to build a LEGO wall in my classroom to incorporate creative play and “build” gross motor strength while practicing fine motor skills. I can see my students creating one-of-a-kind creations with various building materials while working alongside someone who is different from them. I see the puppets being used as an example of “building” emotional competency and understanding of one another. I am new to my school district, and my classroom is simply lacking in the supplies it takes to create a classroom full of discovery, excitement, and opportunity. These supplies will not only benefit the children in my class this year but for years to come.
