4H Camp Overlook counselors that are trained in team-building and problem-solving will be visiting our school for three hours packed full of tasks and obstacles that our sixth graders will have to solve as a team before moving onto the next challenge. During the debrief following each activity, counselors will facilitate a discussion around strengths and challenges. What worked? What didn't? What skills can we improve upon to be more successful next time? How can we effectively work together as a team to overcome obstacles? That is the focus of the trip that our kiddos will be taking to 4H Camp Overlook the following week as they return to their groups to complete a low ropes course and a new set of challenges. Just as before, for each mission the students will be asked to reflect upon what went well and what skills they can work on to be more successful next time. All of these activities will allow our students to depend on each other, communicate effectively, support each other, and listen to others' ideas.
