The math manipulatives chosen for this project are aligned to Eureka Math Lessons. These manipulatives will provide a bridge between the concrete and abstract levels of many mathematical topics. The chosen manipulatives will be carefully and deliberately as lessons are taught in conjunction with other types of math students' work within the class. These manipulatives will not only be used with their Eureka Math but when students are in centers and Independent Study. I believe that these Manipulatives will serve as models that support students’ as they think about, remember about, and communicate about the mathematics being studied. My goal this year is for students to make connections between what is learned on paper, hands-on and real-world connections and feel that for the students that need other resources to help guide their understanding of complex concepts, these will be a great resource.
