The items I am requesting give my students the ability to learn skills essential to everyday experiences. Social/Emotional skills are lacking across the board for most school age children, growing up in a technology rich generation. Students with special needs are at an even greater disadvantage to learning these skills. The best way to teach these skills is through specialized instruction. The books, games, and toys that are being requested allow students to be explicitly taught through literature, games, and experiences/acting. The alphabet tubs allow students to make connections with examples of items that have the same beginning sounds. All of these modes are fun and engaging for students with special needs. The hands on experiences that these tools will provide, will allow students to help build and solidify skills. Please consider donating to our cause
