Many times, my students are dealing with negative environments outside of the school that they bring to the campus. This can lead to them forgetting materials or outright refusing to work because of their mental state. Tasks such as printing papers take away from class time, so having extra toner would allow me to fulfill that need as well. Additionally, the pencils are always needed and having an efficient sharpener would cut down on wasted class time. Knowing they have materials and encouragement awaiting them in my classroom could be a small form of relief for their day. This also plays into how I want my students to engage with the learning environment. With the whiteboards, markers, and erasers they would be able to present their answers in a way without having to speak, which is important for students who are quieter. Additionally, the digital clock will allow students to quickly know what time it is so they would not have to reference their phones. Lastly, the stress relief balls provide a stemming opportunity to release tension.
