An entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for fishing inspired my engineering students to create custom fishing lures that will be sold and shared with hobbyists and fishing clubs. The students will produce custom colors, shapes, and styles of lures to be used for different seasons and types of fish and types of waters. To do this we need a Magic Chef oven, paint project respirators, gloves, and plastic lure molds. This project is developing the 21st-century skills that are in demand in the workforce. Our students are developing engineering, business, and marketing skills that they will continue to use in their post-secondary studies and careers. Other knowledge students will develop includes: inventory oversight, problem-solving techniques, team collaboration, team communication, and fiscal responsibility.
