Gifted and Talented Education students are having a hard time adjusting back to school life. Gifted and Special Education students are needing tools such as wiggle seats, appropriate fidgets, and a safe place to calm down. By donating to my project you are not only giving my students new tools to increase their attention span but a safe place to calm down from big emotions. My gifted students helped lead this project by designing a cozy quiet corner and the materials they needed to help de-escalate from an emotional episode. The cozy quiet corner allows students to escape a stress that may be caused by a disability out of their control. By learning to cope and de-escalate more quickly gives students more time to concentrate on expanding learning.
