I am looking to increase my teaching toolkit by attending a professional conference taught by diverse educators from around the country. This two-day conference will showcase current researched-based strategies, taking my classroom engagement to a higher level. I look for "ah-ha" moments from my class. There is no better way to engage children than to change up my typical instruction. Small, unpredictable changes or unlikely ways to access curriculum will promote such engagement. For example, providing opportunities to unlock secret codes to learn growth mindset lessons from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are inspirational and impactful. Learning from the entire Teach Your Heart Out staff and gaining insights on their best practices and teaching successes will help me in my journey to becoming a better teacher for all of my students! I look forward to learning from many of the presenters, specifically Gerry Brooks and his witty approach to enhancing school climate. I am eager to bring his ideas to our staff and build on our positive school-wide foundation. Please help me attend this two-day conference so that I can continue to share the joy of learning with my school.
