Often students can be reluctant readers. It is a true test of any teacher to have students fully engaged in literature. Our amazing staff has a desire to be capable of giving our students an opportunity to have new books that we wouldn't be able to purchase normally. The book is called Maus, and it takes on the task of presenting tough topics such as the Holocaust and genocide through graphic novel format. This book is extremely well written and will engage our reluctant readers like never before. Through this format, students will be exposed to tough topics, and expand their reading abilities. This is truly an amazing opportunity to help our students to be exposed to literature that not only catches but also keeps their attention. I love that our teachers are willing to take a risk on this and provide the best education possible!
