These new books will allow my students to self select topics of interest from a variety of text that are at their independent reading level. It will help propel all beginning readers to advance their reading level. Engagement and choice of text builds lifetime readers. Having choice is the best way to increase time in text. Creating early readers helps to make lifetime readers. Our world of technology needs children who can read their email, text and all online print. My students are desperate to read and need a variety of text to hold their interest in independent reading. This project will help prepare and enrich their connection with the printed word.
