School has changed and I want to bring back some of the most important aspects of learning in my classroom. Children need more time to play and develop social skills. Through more play-based centers and activities in the classroom, the children in my classroom will have the ability to expand their learning with new play-based materials! It is my goal to find more hands-on materials to foster their learning and provide them with more developmentally appropriate tools to help them learn. The first project we will engage in is called “If I built a school.” In this project, we will engage in cooperative learning, design, write a proposal and build a school. By creating an inviting learning environment, their classroom experience will be one they remember! It is so important to teach students social skills as well as academics. As a teacher who believes early childhood education is the key foundation to success in a child, it is my goal to provide the students I work with, a wealth of play-based items, learning supplies, and social interactive toys to make their learning experience an outstanding one!
