My students go book shopping in our classroom library and are able to choose their own books to read every week. This project will revitalize our library by incorporating new books that reflect the diversity of cultures and families in our classroom. By replenishing these book titles in our classroom library, my students will be able to read brand new books that aren't taped together and worn out! I have chosen books that are high interest for this age group. I have added new series that feature characters that reflect my students' experiences, such as Katie Woo, Max and Zoe, and Pedro. By adding these books to my classroom library, you will make book shopping day the most exciting day for my students! They will flourish as readers, and more importantly, they will develop a true love of reading.
