My students have to earn points each quarter for reading books and passing tests. I want them to have great books to read. Even non-readers are interested and want to read when the literature is great. The right book can turn a non-reader into a reader. (And, even prolific readers don't want to read when the literature is boring, predictable, and suffer-able.) I want my students to want to read; I want them to talk about what they are reading; and, I want them to be excited to start the next book. In order to do this, I need to have great books incredible literature for them to devour.
