Dr. Ait-Chalalet specializes in working with counseling groups in the schools. Students will learn to cope with adversity, grief, and trauma through this skills group. Students participating in this age-appropriate counseling group will learn ways to overcome negative thinking through positive framing and a variety of creative outlets to build resiliency. Some activities include drawing, writing, dancing, breathing exercises, and meditation. Dr. Ait-Chalalet and I have been trained in Trauma and Grief Component Therapy at Texas Children's Hospital. Many of our students' families cannot afford counseling or cannot transport their child to a therapist weekly. This brings the therapist and the skills group to their school.
