A kidney shaped table would benefit small group instruction for this particular class because these students work better in groups of 3-4 children. Some children in this class have learning disabilities and work best one on one with me, their new teacher. Other students have trouble with English, because it’s not their first language spoken at home. So a smaller setting works best for them as well. And lastly, one particular student has a hearing impairment wearing a hearing device and I wear a hearing assisted device all day, so he can hear and sits right directly next to me.
