Our current kiln is over 25 years old. Every time our ceramics class fires the kiln we have a 50/50 chance that all the projects will ruin. A ceramics class without a kiln is just fun with mud. Though it speaks to the adventure and willingness of my students to take risks - the disappointment is much too real. Every student deserves to have properly working equipment that is essential to their learning process. Ceramics is an incredible medium that teaches not just skill but patience and perseverance. My students are champs and have definitely learned patience with the kiln. Please help them learn about the satisfaction of being able to complete a beautiful project - without tragedy or risk!
