Walnut Bend Elementary is a newly designated candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. Funding of this project would allow me to further my understanding of the standards and practices of the progamme, as well as develop best practices of inquiry-based learning through professional development and webinar opportunities. Our journey in the development of the programme requires much training, and while attending previous sessions, I have found myself at a disadvantage by not having the necessary equipment to access the interactive components that were required. This process requires complete campus buy-in and vertical collaboration. Building my own capacity will then allow me to share this knowledge through school-wide professional development with other teachers which will ultimately impact all students at our school.
