In a therapeutic classroom, we work on many coping skills. Over the year, my students seem to focus an the gross motor items and art as a way to cope with the difficulties of the day! In the classroom, we have centers for movement. With the donation of the gross motor items, it will enhance the coping skills of my students and allow them to socially distance at the same time. For example, last year we used a crate for our basketball net, with the donation of a real net, several of my students could take advantage of this coping mechanism. Another therapeutic technique used every day in my room is art. We create many master pieces! Our walls become an art gallery. My students have faced many adversities in their young lives. With the donations provided, the children will enhance their coping skills. As they enhance their coping skills, they will learn!
