Our students are just learning to read and need to be exposed to what makes reading so fun! The average students in Philadelphia are below grade level in reading due to their lack of exposure to different books, texts, and resources - at school and at home. In our classroom, our library is scarce. Students have a small selection of books and have been reading the same books multiple times during their independent reading corner time. We want to change the way they see reading! We strive to make reading a comfortable, exciting, and fearless experience for our students. By creating a space with comfortable seating options and books of various levels & topics, we hope to make this happen. We are asking for help to build our library and help our students remain excited about learning!

About my class
