The iPad will be used both as a tool in speech/language therapy and as a reward. An iPad would give my kids instant access to motivating, content-rich resources (and reduce paper waste, too). For kids working on speech sounds, we would use apps that are pre-loaded with thousands of practice words and motivating games/visuals. We also would use apps and videos to support narrative language skills, trial assistive technology software for emerging communicators, and use video functions to help students record and self-evaluate their own communication skills. The iPad will also provides easy access to data management systems to support my ability to monitor student growth to ensure evidence-based practice!
