My students receive Title I funding, however we are also a state funded school. This means we received very little funding for materials. What supplies we have, we are not able to share anymore. My students would greatly benefit from being able to use color when mapping or creating interactive notebooks for their lessons in history. Unfortunately many of my students also fall under low income, approximately 75% of the school does. Student bought supplies are a luxury that many cannot afford especially during this pandemic. Earbuds are also a luxury to many, but a necessity for in person and at home learning. In order to show video clips and have class discussions, these earbuds are essential. Life changing is the business we teachers are in, but we need your help to close the gap through supplying basic necessities. Many of my students will use these items at home to complete history projects or to listen to a TED Ed talk. The earbuds would be so beneficial to my students because many of them have siblings at home that are also learning. If my student is distracted or cannot hear the lesson, they lose out. One class is 50 minutes and if this happens 3 times a week you are looking at 150 minutes each week. You compound that by the month and that student is losing out on 10 hours of undistracted lessons! Now imagine if we are like this all school year? We need your help.
