All of these supplies will be utilized every single morning by my students as they come in. Instead of morning work or a packet of work for them to do, they can come on in and get all of those creative juices flowing to start their day. The learning outcome that I want these students to have is not to gain social emotional skills through building with others using each product to work towards different challenges I’ll pose to students each week (what group can build a tower using LEGO or other products that can hold two science textbooks for example). As they work, they will have to opportunity to work in groups to create to build extremely important social emotional and problem solving skills as they enter into middle school and eventually the workforce! The top priority with these products is to give students the opportunity to have a "soft start" to their morning instead of dreading coming to school to immediately start working. They'll have the option to choose what they want to do instead of being told what they have to do as soon as they walk into my door in the morning.
