My firsties are very curious and enthusiastic. They are eager to engage in literacy rich activities daily. I want to be able to give them every opportunity that I can to allow them to work to their full potential. Each student who comes into my classroom is part of my family and I want only the best for my firstie family. Flexible seating allows students to make the choices that are the best for them. Flexible seating allows students to be engaged and have ownership of their learning. Allowing students to make the best seating choice for them enables them to be comfortable. This, in turn, maximizes engagement in all activities. Having a choice can have a positive effect on students' work and behavior. Young learners need frequent breaks throughout the day. Often changing their seating position can help with these breaks. Students benefit from having the choice to sit, stand or kneel. Having several different seating options to choose from will be helpful in breaking up the day.
