The sound of the traffic, bright sunlight, the tags in my clothes, the inability to tell my parents "I love you", putting non-edible things in my mouth, crying and laughing uncontrollably, can't play or look at my siblings/friends, and being accepted as "ME" versus what everyone else expects of me is what an autistic child feels on a daily basis. However, it does not define their abilities, talents, hobbies, and individuality. These are the type of children that I see and treat on a daily basis. An iPad provides them the ability to accomplish their goals of expressing themselves, writing about their day the best way they are capable of, socializing and communicating their wants, needs, and desires, and finding out what they are passionate about. Technology is what gives these children the ability to prove that being different doesn't define their capabilities and strengths to help them achieve their goals in life.
