I spend much of my day responding to emotional crisis. My students struggle in this area and have high emotional needs. My goal with this project is to provide them with materials that will help them learn appropriate social behaviors and calming strategies. The journals will provide students who have specific learning disabilities in literacy an opportunity to express their feelings with pictures. The books will be used to model coping strategies when students are going through an emotional crisis. My students thrive on multi-sensory learning so the learning kit is essential to help students internalize the lessons by interacting with games, task cards, and activities.
