We reside in a community where many of our students are home with either older siblings or other family members while they wait for the breadwinners of the house to come and prepare a meal. The goal is to teach our students, how to prepare fun, simple and healthy snacks that they can prepare either while they wait or to make themselves a healthy meal when there is a need to. Using blenders to make smoothies, or toaster over to warm bread to make a sand-which will help our students become self-sufficient an that's one of the goals. They will use this life skill that they acquired for the rest of their life. Measuring ingredients using measuring cups and measuring spoons will allow them to see math come alive.
