With the addition of these desks in my classroom, I can create a more group-focused set up of the learning environment. A group-focused setting allows for a family domain to be fostered. If students feel they are a part of something, such as a family, their academic, social and emotional needs are met and positively enhanced. By peer collaboration and encouragement, my students will be able to maximize their learning and sense of accomplishment. Having that sense of accomplishment is a year-long goal I set for each of my students. This gives them the motivational tools they need each school year. Group seating that creates a family type of peer collaboration is a great way to help my students be the best they can be!
