The materials I'm requesting will fulfill the beginnings of a learning garden. Once we get the tools and supplies, we can get started on planting seeds to grow into seedlings, ready for planting in about 2 months, after a few lessons on "plants". We will be meeting once a week and I hope to recruit more students to join once they see that a real garden is beginning to form. Here are some lessons students will learn: parts and functions of a plant (including how fruits are formed...); types of plants; when and how to plant fruits and vegetables... By donating to this project, students will become more aware of where their "food" is coming from and hopefully realize that they can grow their own and start eating healthy and nutritious meals.
