In today’s age, computer literacy is an integral component of any student’s learning plan. By providing students with access to the greatest learning tool ever invented--the Internet--they gain unprecedented access to resources and information. Chromebooks enhance student's communication and collaboration opportunities. Chromebooks allow students to work together while completing group projects, studying for tests, and research for reports. They give students access to the information they need to be successful in the classroom and in life as a whole.
Donating Chromebooks to my classroom will not only enhance their learning, but it will also keep students actively engaged in the classroom and increase their attention and focus.
It has been found that technology, when implemented properly, can close the gap between "high performing" and "at-risk" students. At least 20% of US households do not have internet access. My student's having Chromebooks will give the ones with no technology access at home the ability to access resources in a manner suited to their learning style.
