These books will improve students learning about Christopher Columbus and his discovery of the New World. We are beginning to show students how different subjects can overlap and create an even better learning experience. These books will combine social studies and reading to challenge the students and engage them more in the material. They will be able to take these books home to help with the homework and projects completed outside of the classroom. "Children of the Longhouse" is a fiction piece that is set in an Indian tribe in the New World. It describes life of the local Indians before Christopher Columbus came over. "Who Was Christopher Columbus" is a nonfiction piece that goes into details about Christopher Columbus himself and how he came about discovering the New World.
