When students use flexible seating, it allows the student to focus on social skills, academic, or independent work task. Alternative seating provides the student with a choice and, or comfort, therefore, a greater attention to task. The iPad will be used as an assistive technology device that will allow for proficient 21st century communication. All other items will assist and be used for affectively communicating in real world scenarios. Students with fine motor deficits and communication needs will be able to communicate via the iPad through Tobi Dynavox which is a voice output software that the student uses via picture symbols. All other materials will be used for effective fine motor communication which students will need to function independently in the real world.
