We will address the five strands of Massachusetts music curriculum: singing, playing instruments, reading and writing standard music notation, improvisation and composition, and music analysis. Fifteen music keyboards, thirty sets of headphones, and thirty headphones splitters will enable the students to explode with musical creativity, working independently and or cooperatively. We will learn how to really hear music, to transcribe songs by ear, how to read music, how to notate music, how to improvise, how to compose, how to listen to our own inspiration, how to capture those ideas, before they disappear. Will augment the music program with more 25 guitars to add to our collection of 5 acoustic guitars and one electric and one bass that are already here. We look forward to transforming the music department into a bonafide music studio and performance space.
