This year our school has set aside time for us to teach social-emotional learning every day. Part of social-emotional learning is to get in tune with our feelings and learn to cope with difficult emotions like anger, anxiety, and sadness. We are using mindfulness, meditation, and yoga in my classroom to calm our bodies and minds and help us be happy and ready learners. I have seen great improvement in my students' behavior and focus since beginning these lessons and look forward to seeing them soar when they are able to comfortably practice yoga on their own yoga mat!
