A graphing calculator is an essential learning tool designed to help students visualize and better understand concepts in mathematics. A set of calculators will allow my students to make real-world connections in a variety of subjects. As they gain a deeper understanding of the material through the use of their graphing calculators, my hope is that students will acquire the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they will need to attain greater academic success in high school and beyond. Without question, students experience proven academic advantages when using a graphing calculator in the classroom and at home. In fact, some studies indicate that the use of graphing calculators helps improve the mathematical skills of students as well as their attitudes toward mathematics. And if research shows that the use of graphing calculators increases the level of academic achievement why not consider contributing toward the acquisition of a class set?
