High schools can be a loud, overstimulating place for people with unique sensory needs. I push my students to integrate themselves into our campus, and participate with their peers as often as possible. I also give them rigorous lessons that are aligned with Common Core standards. Because my class has unique sensory needs, they often need a place to cool down, collect themselves, and get ready for the next lesson or activity. I would like to set up a sensory space for them to escape over stimulation, and prime themselves to be read to learn again. This place will be for relaxation, stress relief, and provide a space for their sensory needs to be met.

About my class
