The equipment purchased by this DonorsChoose project will organize the Adapted Physical Education equipment shed. Currently, all equipment is housed in brown cardboard boxes or on the floor. It is unlabeled and not easily seen. The materials purchased will label and organize the equipment so that if a student, teacher, volunteer, or parent needs to access the equipment, they will be easily able to see, read, and identify the proper equipment needed for the activity. Upon completion of the activity the labeled, clear bins and shelving will allow everyone to put the equipment back in the designated area. With the equipment in such disarray, students in wheelchairs or with ambulatory difficulties, accessing the shed is not only difficult, but a hazard. We need several clear storage bins to place balls, juggling scarves, and other various pieces of equipment. The clear bins would allow everyone to visually see what is in each one quickly. The Sharpies are for labeling the equipment so that everyone knows which program it belongs to. The tape is to help secure some of the older boxes that we will still need to organize. The label maker is to label each and every box. We need to ensure that all supplies return to their designated box on the correct shelf. These much-needed organizational materials would not only help with the general upkeep of the specialized equipment, but would also allow for a more universally designed space for all to access the adapted physical education materials.
