Chapter books allow students to expand their reading skills, especially when they are reading above their grade-level in a primary grade. With these new books, my students will have a variety of books to choose from so that they can continue to work on their literacy and fluency. My students absolutely love our reading corner, because they love having the opportunity to choose a good book, get comfortable on the floor, and get lost in a story! The seating choices I chose will also allow all of my students to be able to independently read in the reading corner, as opposed to only a few at a time. This will make for longer engagement in independent reading, and my students will work even harder on their assignments to get to have the chance to read!
