Many students today are bombarded with technology, iPads and gaming systems. When working with students who are learning to speak English as a second language, communication and social skills are very important. Many of the students I work with do not have toys or games to play with in their homes. I would like to give them some games that they can check out and take home to play with. Learning to take turns, following directions, winning and losing, are all life long lessons and social skills that students can learn playing games. My goal is to teach children how to play games that they can take home and play with their families. The games that I selected will reinforce a variety of skills: letter identification, phonemic awareness, number recognition, etc.
