As we get well into our second quarter, supplies are low and impact projects are getting closer each day. I want to provide my students more opportunities to be excited about what they are learning. My 8th grade students will be studying microbes and diseases and we will need supplies to supplement their learning with some hands-on labs. When my students walked into classroom and they see lab materials laid out, they are instantly hooked. We will use the UV lights to determine who has been "infected" by the germ powder. The lab will add shock factor and intrigue to this unit. I plan to use it as an engaging hook into epidemic and pandemic outbreaks. I would appreciate anyone that could help me in supplying these materials so that I do not have to make out-of-pocket costs. In addition to the lab supplies, my classroom is in need of more pencils and board erasers. My students are often missing materials necessary for class, and this project will help ensure lessons can go smoothly and efficiently.
