In an effort to keep our classroom a safe place mentally and emotionally, sensory materials such as the social/emotional games, mini trampoline, weighted blanket and shoulder pad, punching bag, liquid motion bubblers, kinetic sand, and gel beads will help students manage anxiety and cope with stress. My students need to learn and practice understanding and managing their emotions and need a safe place to release anxious/angry energy in order to maximize their learning every single day. The social/emotional games will allow them to think about how they feel and how they can control their feelings, thoughts, and actions in a safe and productive way. My students love and always advocate for the ability to move and fidget while they learn and the children's stress balls, stretchy strings, puzzle cube, and other fidgets will allow them to keep their bodies and hands busy to help them focus and do work. Your donation will improve the lives of my students at school by creating a mentally stimulating, emotionally safe, physically active, environment that will ultimately reduce behavioral issues and create an atmosphere where students can do their best individualized learning. Your donation to this project will help my student's academic and social/emotional learning so they may learn in a way that makes them feel focused, comfortable, calm, and motivated; ultimately gaining important life skills. The materials that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door!
