My students go to a variety of content classes every day. Many of these involve sitting for long periods and taking notes. When students come to my art classes, they plan to create amazing projects every day of the week. Many of my students only have ever drawn pictures to express their creativity in art projects for class. As well as many have never painted or held a paintbrush before. By receiving these supplies, for painting and other sculpture projects, my students will be able to learn more about media that can be manipulated to express their thoughts and feelings. Currently, students are completing multiple drawing projects because it is hard to ration enough supplies to last 350 students for one year. These materials will allow my students to become innovative problem-solvers by working through new learning experiences. Through practicing with these materials my students will grow in cultural awareness and empathy by comprehending rich art history periods. All of my students have shown that they are more engaged in art class when new materials are presented that they can experiment with. I believe by receiving these materials then all of my students will become more successful in visual art. and have more craftsmanship in their final projects. This will enhance my classroom environment by letting the students have more opportunities and choices in what materials are used to create their amazing artworks!
